Do You Need a Spring Mount?
A spring can reduce sharp loads transferred into a rigid bracket, but it also adds height and lets the whip move farther. It is an option rather than an automatic requirement. How to Measure for a Roll-Bar Mount
- Measure the outside diameter of the cage tube with calipers when possible.
- Measure at the exact mounting location; some cages taper or use different tube sizes.
- Confirm the clamp will not sit over a joint, weld, bend or damaged finish.
- Check roof, windshield, bed and rear-cargo clearance.
- Verify the whip cable can leave the base without being pinched.

Can I attach a whip mount directly to a roll cage?
Yes, with a clamp designed for the exact outside diameter of that cage tube. Do not guess the tube size or clamp over a taper, joint or damaged area.
Should I use a quick release and a spring together?
Only when the components are compatible and the combined height and movement are appropriate for the vehicle. Stacking adapters increases leverage on the main bracket.
Will one mount fit every UTV?
