Walker Evans shocks are a proven performer in the UTV world — built tough, reliable, and capable on demanding terrain. But like any shock, their performance is limited by the spring rate they're paired with. The factory single-rate spring on the XP Turbo 4 Seater is tuned for a broad range of loads and conditions, which means it's always a compromise: too stiff for light loads on smooth trails, not progressive enough for big hits with a full crew at speed.
A tender spring adds a softer secondary spring in series with the main coil. At low shaft speeds and small bumps, only the tender spring compresses — giving all four passengers a plush, compliant feel that lets your Walker Evans shocks work as intended. As forces increase with a full load or bigger hits, the main spring engages and provides the support needed. The result is a suspension that feels soft on small chop but firm when you need it, with 2-3" more ride height to clear obstacles and run larger tires.
