Service details & related repairs

UTV & side-by-side repair services

What we repair on your UTV.

You should understand the work before you approve it. Tell us the year, make, model and symptoms; our Pleasant Grove team will confirm support and explain the appropriate repair.

UTV clutch, CVT & belt repair

Repeated belt failures, slipping and poor engagement can involve the whole drive system. We inspect the cause before recommending another belt or clutch repair.

  • Primary and secondary clutch wear, slipping, harsh engagement and delayed engagement on supported CVT applications.
  • Belt condition, glazing, heat and related drivetrain concerns that can contribute to repeated failures.
  • Jerking, abnormal RPM and lost acceleration, with recent modifications and machine setup considered during diagnosis.

UTV engine repair & diagnostics

A UTV that will not start or has lost power does not automatically need an engine rebuild. We separate engine concerns from fuel, ignition, electrical and cooling problems first.

  • Hard-start and no-start diagnosis involving fuel delivery, ignition, electrical faults and compression.
  • Power loss, smoke, changing oil use and abnormal noise evaluated before major engine work is recommended.
  • Overheating, fuel-pump and injector concerns investigated according to the machine and symptoms.

UTV electrical, charging & no-start repair

A clicking starter, recurring dead battery or blown fuse needs testing. We trace supported starting, charging and wiring problems before recommending replacement parts.

  • Battery, starter, relay, connection and charging diagnosis when the machine will not crank or keep its battery charged.
  • Wiring, fuses, switches and accessory faults, including concerns that began after lighting or audio installation.
  • Intermittent faults investigated using the conditions you describe, such as heat, vibration or use under load.

UTV steering, brake & alignment service

Loose steering, pulling and changing brake feel can involve several connected components. We inspect the system around the symptom and explain the appropriate repair.

  • Supported steering racks, tie rods, joints and related hardware checked for play, wear and clunking.
  • Brake inspection and supported pad, rotor or hydraulic repair based on the machine’s condition.
  • Tracking and alignment concerns after impacts or steering and suspension changes, including uneven tire wear.

Riley Erickson, owner and founder of R1 Industries.

Meet Riley Erickson • Owner & founder

He rides.
He builds.
He expects it done right.

The work starts with Riley’s standards. He learned to love working on things alongside his dad, a military mechanic who could fix just about anything. After retiring from the military, his dad now works with the R1 team. That lesson stayed with Riley: understand the problem, care about the details and do the job correctly.

As a husband, dad and rider, Riley knows what it means when a machine lets you down. He built R1 to help people enjoy the trails, the water, the outdoors and time with their families.

Quality still matters.
An honest day’s work still means something.

The R1 standard

Done right.
Checked three times.

A torque wrench. The correct specification. A visible mark on every serviced fastener. Those details tell the next inspector exactly what was touched and what to check. Riley expects every completed repair to pass through three people, with each inspection building on the last.

3 Person Final Inspection Process

Torqued to spec. Marked. Checked again.

1. The technician

The technician completes the work, uses torque wrenches to tighten serviced bolts to specification, then marks the nuts and bolts. Before handing the machine off, the technician inspects their own work and checks the details of the repair.

2. The shop manager

Our shop manager meticulously audits the completed work. Every bolt touched gets checked, torque is verified again, and the marks show exactly where to look. Detailed photos are added to your service record to document the work and inspection before the next handoff.

3. The service writer

Our service writer goes out to the machine for a final inspection. If anything falls short, it goes back to the shop for correction. We invest the extra time, money and effort because riders deserve work done right the first time.

The R1 story

From a basement workbench
to a shop built for you.

From daily shock rebuilds in his garage to a 20,000-square-foot facility in Pleasant Grove, Riley built R1 around careful work and standing behind it. Take a look inside the shop, meet the team and see the space built to welcome your machine.

2016

The basement

Riley starts R1 building LED light whips, earning trust through quality and standing behind his work.

2018

The garage

Daily whip pickups and daily shock rebuilds turn his home garage into a busy shop.

2020

The Lindon warehouse

A 5,800-square-foot space makes room for growth. R1 spends five years here and expands into dyno tuning.

Today

Pleasant Grove

A 20,000-square-foot facility, plenty of parking and easy trailer access. Riley is here every day.

Meet the rider, dad and builder behind R1.

Riley Erickson is a former USA Junior Olympic champion and college baseball player. The drive that shaped him as an athlete still shapes how he runs R1: pay attention to the details, hold a high standard and do the work correctly the first time.

His dad was an exceptionally capable mechanic who served in the military as a mechanic. Growing up working alongside him, Riley learned to love understanding how things work, finding what is wrong and fixing it properly. After retiring from the military, his dad now works with the R1 team. He also spent many years running Wedding Cakes by Dawna in Utah, bringing extensive business experience alongside his mechanical knowledge.

Today, Riley is a husband and dad who loves camping with his family of five. He hunts, fishes, farms, boats, jet skis and rides dirt bikes. He owns three UTVs, enjoys yard work and cares deeply about having equipment that works the way it should. Helping other riders enjoy those same hobbies is what makes this business personal.

Riley started R1 Industries in his basement in 2016, building LED light whips. His attention to detail and product quality helped the business grow quickly. He earned customers’ trust by standing behind those early whips with a no-questions-asked warranty, covering what happened to them.

In 2018, the business moved into the garage of his new home. Customers came by every day to pick up whips, while Riley rebuilt shocks daily. By 2020, the business needed a 5,800-square-foot warehouse in Lindon. R1 operated there for five years and had outgrown the space within the first two.

Riley’s love of speed also led him to open a full dyno shop, where machines were tuned day after day. R1 eventually moved into a 20,000-square-foot facility in Pleasant Grove, in the heart of Utah County, with plenty of parking and easy trailer access.

Riley is at R1 every day, working with a team he considers his best friends. He is demanding about the quality of their work because your machine matters. Corners do not get cut. The final work goes through a detailed process with three people checking it off.

R1 exists to prove that quality still matters and an honest day’s work still means something. That is the standard Riley brings to the shop, the team and every customer relationship.

UTV & side-by-side repair questions.

Choose the service that fits your symptoms and get ready for your visit to R1.

What UTV repairs can I bring to R1?

We diagnose starting and running problems, engine concerns, clutch and belt issues, drivetrain noise, electrical faults, steering, brakes and suspension. We also handle routine maintenance and supported accessory installation. Send your year, make, model and symptoms so we can confirm the work before drop-off.

Do you service Polaris RZR, Ranger and Can-Am side-by-sides?

Yes. We service supported Polaris RZR and Ranger, Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, CFMOTO and other UTV applications. For RZR-specific work, see our Polaris RZR repair service. Include your exact model and modifications when requesting a quote.

My UTV keeps breaking belts. Do I need another belt or clutch work?

A replacement belt may not resolve the underlying problem. Tell us when the failure happens, your tire size, load and recent clutch changes. Our UTV clutch, CVT and belt repair service covers slipping, engagement problems, heat and repeated belt failures.

Can you diagnose a UTV that will not start or runs poorly?

Yes. Describe whether the engine cranks, when the problem started and any warning lights or recent work. Start with electrical and no-start diagnosis or UTV engine diagnostics; the inspection determines which system needs repair.

Do you repair leaking shocks, loose steering or brake problems?

Yes. We offer shock rebuild and suspension service and UTV steering and brake repair. Describe the leak, play, noise or change in handling so the service team can plan the inspection.

Where is your UTV repair shop, and which areas do you serve?

R1 Industries is at 2416 W 700 S, Suite 101, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. We serve Utah County riders from American Fork, Lehi, Lindon, Orem, Provo, Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain and surrounding communities at this one facility. Shop hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM Mountain Time.

How do I get a repair estimate, and how long will it take?

Send the year, make, model, symptoms and recent modifications through our repair quote form or text 435-500-9755. Photos or a short video can help explain the concern. Pricing and timing depend on diagnosis, parts availability and the current shop schedule.
