R1 Industries • Pleasant Grove, Utah
Parked too long. Ready to ride again.
You pull the cover off, turn the key—and your ATV won’t start. R1 Industries handles ATV repair in Pleasant Grove. Tell us what it’s doing, and let’s get it running again.
Why won’t my ATV start after sitting?
A weak battery, poor electrical connection or fuel problem can leave a stored ATV unable to start. The first distinction is whether the engine turns over. Clicking or slow cranking points the inspection in a different direction from an engine that cranks normally but never fires.
Start with the electrical supply.
Battery condition and connections need checking. A clicking sound alone does not prove that the starter needs replacement.
Look beyond the starter.
Old or contaminated fuel, a spark problem or another engine fault may be involved. The fact that it cranks does not identify the failed part.
The problem isn’t finished.
Fuel, ignition and air-supply issues can affect running. An engine that fires briefly still needs the cause of its stalling identified.

“It ran when I parked it.” Now what?
That is useful history. Tell us how long it sat, whether the fuel was treated and whether the battery was maintained. Storage history helps direct the inspection; it does not tell us which part to replace.
If you have already charged the battery, added fuel or replaced a part, let us know what changed. “It cranks faster now but still won’t fire” is a useful clue. You do not have to diagnose the ATV before bringing it to R1.
Does it automatically need a carburetor cleaning?
No. First confirm whether your ATV has a carburetor or fuel injection. Carburetor service is not an answer for a fuel-injected machine, and a starting problem does not automatically identify a fuel-system fault.
Our ATV shop clip below shows hands-on component work. Your machine gets a repair recommendation based on its own condition and symptoms.
R1 can help get your ATV running again.
Start with our ATV repair service in Pleasant Grove. We’ll discuss the starting problem, arrange the next step and work toward a repair plan for your machine. Riders from American Fork, Lehi, Lindon, Orem and Provo can contact the same local shop.
Text your ATV’s year and model, how long it sat, and whether it clicks, cranks or starts then dies. Ask about current availability when you contact us. If fuel is leaking, stop attempting to start it and arrange service.
Technical reference: the Polaris Sportsman 450/570 owner’s manual separates no-crank, crank-no-start and stalling faults. Follow the manual for your exact ATV; the examples above are not a diagnosis.
