Description
Your RZR XP 1000 Should Not Beat You Up Through Every Bump
When the factory tender springs stay fully compressed at normal ride height, your RZR loses the softer first stage of its suspension. The machine sits lower, reaches the firm main-spring rate too early, and pounds through chop that the shocks should be absorbing.
This vehicle-specific tender spring kit replaces the worn factory tenders on your existing shocks to recover lost stance and create a night-and-day improvement in ride smoothness when collapsed tenders are the problem.
What Changes After the Upgrade?
The suspension begins moving through a usable tender stage instead of sending every sharp edge into the chassis and seats.
Correct the low stance created by tired factory tenders and regain room for the suspension to work.
The shock moves from the softer combined rate into the main spring instead of riding on the firm stage immediately.
Properly adjusted preload helps the machine carry passengers, cargo, and common accessories more confidently.
Why Tender Springs Make Such a Big Difference
The tender and main spring work together during the first part of shock travel. When the tender reaches coil bind, the suspension transitions to the main-spring rate. A factory tender that remains stacked at normal ride height contributes almost no useful initial movement, so the RZR can sit low and feel harsh at the same time.
A correctly selected replacement tender restores that working range. The suspension can respond to smaller trail inputs before transitioning into the support of the main spring for deeper travel. For a deeper technical explanation, read R1’s dual-rate suspension guide.

This listing is for a complete four-spring tender kit used with your existing shocks and main springs. It is not a complete shock assembly or a complete main-and-tender spring package.
Installation & Setup
Installation requires safely unloading the coil springs and removing the shock assemblies as directed. Use proper spring-compression equipment and follow the supplied instructions. After installation, settle the suspension on level ground, measure ride height at consistent points, and adjust preload in small increments for the machine’s normal passenger, cargo, and accessory load.
Compressed coil springs store significant energy. If you do not have the proper tools and experience, have a qualified suspension shop install the kit. Recheck shock hardware and alignment after a meaningful ride-height correction.
Common Questions
How do I know if my factory tender springs are collapsed?
Inspect the shorter upper springs with the machine resting on level ground. If the coils remain fully stacked together at normal ride height, the tender has little usable travel left. A machine that sits low but also feels harsh over small chop is another common sign.
Will these make my RZR ride stiffer?
The goal is the opposite: restore the compliant initial stage that disappears when the factory tenders stay coil-bound. Correct spring selection and preload are still essential.
How much ride height will I recover?
All Thingz UTV advertises approximately 2–3 inches of ride-height improvement for its tender spring kits. Actual results depend on the model, shock package, existing spring condition, preload, tires, accessories, and vehicle load.
Is this the same as a lift kit?
No. The height comes from correcting spring sag and setting the suspension properly while retaining the existing shock geometry. It is not a spacer or bracket lift.
Do I reuse my factory main springs?
Yes. This tender kit is designed for the existing shock assemblies and main springs. If the main springs are damaged, tired, or undersized for a heavily accessorized build, consider a complete spring package.
Does this fit 2024 and newer RZR XP 1000 models?
No. This listing covers 2014–2023 models. Use the 2024+ RZR XP 1000 tender spring kit for the newer chassis.
What if I am unsure which option fits?
Contact R1 Industries before ordering with the model year, exact model, seat count, and a clear photo of the shock label. Correct shock identification prevents the most common ordering mistake.
Stop Letting Collapsed Factory Tenders Ruin the Ride
Select the year range, choose the correct 2-seat or 4-seat chassis, match the shock brand, and give your XP 1000 back the stance and smoothness it should have.
