UTV Parts Fitment Guide: How to Choose Parts That Actually Fit
The safest way to buy UTV parts is to verify your exact year, make, model, trim, seat count, engine, and relevant measurements before ordering. A product being listed for a brand or model family does not automatically mean it fits every year or configuration.
What information do I need before buying a UTV part?
Have the following information ready whenever possible:
- Model year
- Manufacturer and model
- Trim or submodel
- Two-seat, four-seat, or crew configuration
- Engine size or platform when relevant
- Factory or aftermarket cage, roof, suspension, wheels, doors, or other modifications
- Measurements required by the part, such as clamp diameter, bolt pattern, offset, width, or clearance
Why year, trim, and seat count matter
Manufacturers often change mounting points, body panels, suspension geometry, cage dimensions, electrical connectors, wheel offsets, and other details across model years or trims. A part that fits one version of a machine can be wrong for another version with a similar name.
Machine-specific parts vs. universal parts
Machine-specific parts should list the exact supported machines and model years. Examples include doors, windshields, bumpers, suspension parts, skid plates, seats, and many storage systems.
Universal parts can fit many machines but still have requirements. LED whips, mirrors, mounts, switches, audio components, recovery equipment, and other universal accessories may require a specific cage diameter, mounting surface, power source, connector, bolt pattern, or available space.
Fitment checks by product type
Windshields and roofs: confirm machine generation, year, cage/body style, and whether other accessories interfere with mounting.
Doors and enclosures: confirm model, year range, seat configuration, factory door setup, roof compatibility, and whether the product is a full replacement or add-on panel.
Suspension parts: confirm model, year, suspension package, front/rear location, shock or spring application, and any lift or long-travel modifications.
Wheels and tires: verify wheel diameter, width, bolt pattern, offset, tire diameter, tire width, load rating, and machine clearance.
Lighting and electrical: verify voltage, connector type, amperage requirements, switch or controller compatibility, mounting location, and wiring needs.
Seats and harnesses: confirm seat base or mounting brackets, seat width, harness mounting points, seat-belt configuration, and available cabin clearance.
How should I use R1 Industries product pages?
Use the fitment and specification information on each product page as the primary reference for that product. Check the exact application, included hardware, options selected, measurements, and any manufacturer notes before ordering. Collection placement helps you browse, but it does not replace product-level fitment verification.
Where should I start shopping?
If you know your machine, start with the R1 Parts by Make & Model finder. For broader browsing, use the UTV Parts & Side-by-Side Accessories collection and narrow by machine, category, brand, or product type.
What if my UTV has aftermarket modifications?
Aftermarket cages, roofs, doors, lift kits, long-travel kits, wheel offsets, suspension components, bumpers, audio systems, and other modifications can change fitment even when a product normally fits the stock machine. Measure the actual machine when a product depends on physical dimensions or clearance.
How do I confirm fitment if I'm still unsure?
