How to Install UTV LED Whip Lights Without Cutting or Splicing

R1 Fatty Whips pair with controller and wiring

R1 Industries |

A clean whip-light install starts before you touch the wiring. Decide where the whips will mount, where the controller will live, and how the wiring will route away from heat, sharp edges and moving suspension parts.

Plan the mounting location

Choose a solid location at the rear of the machine with enough clearance for the whip body and connector. Verify that the mount will not interfere with doors, cargo, spare tires or other accessories.

Route the wiring before connecting power

Run the harness along protected areas of the chassis or cage. Leave enough slack for service but avoid loose loops that can snag.

Use the labeled plug-and-play connections

R1 Fatty Whips use a plug-and-play wiring layout designed to keep the main install clean. The labeled connections make it easier to identify the left and right sides.

Protect the controller

Mount the controller where it is protected from direct impact and where the wiring can reach without tension.

Test everything before final tie-down

Power the system, confirm both whips operate correctly, then secure the harness and finish the install.

See the R1 Fatty Whip kit and review the product photos for the included wiring and connectors.
