The Black Ops Machine X3 Rack Support braces the steering rack in a double-shear arrangement to reduce excess rack-system movement, improve steering response, and cut down the constant correction that can make a loose front end exhausting to drive.
The problem this support is designed to address
Steering input should move the wheels—not flex or shift the rack first. Black Ops Machine designed this bracket to support the X3 steering rack and reduce excess rack play and travel at the supported mounting area. The result can be a tighter connection between the steering wheel and front tires.

Why the old 2016–2023 range was removed
The Maverick X3 is generally sold as a 2017-and-newer platform, and Black Ops Machine’s current listing does not verify the old 2016–2023 range. Rather than repeat an unsupported cutoff, this page requires exact application confirmation.
V1, Gen 2, and Race Rack versions are not interchangeable names
Black Ops Machine sells multiple X3 rack-support products. Confirm that SKU 05-20-00 is the version intended for the rack and riding setup before ordering; do not select only from the words “X3 rack support.”

Will this eliminate every source of steering play?
No. It is designed to reduce excess movement at the steering-rack support area. Play from tie rods, ball joints, wheel bearings, steering shafts, splines, rack wear, or alignment requires separate correction.
What does double shear mean?
Instead of supporting a loaded point from only one side, a double-shear arrangement supports it from both sides. That reduces leverage and unwanted deflection at the supported point.
Is this a complete replacement steering rack?
No. It is a support and stabilizer kit for the existing X3 rack system.
What is the bracket made from?
The manufacturer specifies machined 6061-T6 aluminum with a black anodized finish.
