Packard Performance · Tire setup guide

Make your next dune setup feel intentional.

Sand Light rear paddles are built for riders who care about tire weight as much as traction. They give a UTV a dedicated sand-driving tire, with standard and HO choices so you can match the paddle to the power instead of automatically buying the most aggressive option.

Lightweight focus

A rear paddle family built around sand performance.

Standard or HO

Different paddle heights for different power needs.

Build as a system

Pair with compatible front sand tires and wheels.

Choose your configuration

  • 32x15-15
  • 33x15-15
  • 33x15-15 HO
  • 31x15-15
  • 32x15-15 HO

These are the options listed for this product; stock and pricing depend on your selection. The final number in a tire size is the required wheel diameter. Match rim width, actual tire clearance and front/rear rolling circumference to your application.

Why choose this tire?

Start with the standard paddle for the power range Packard recommends. HO uses a taller paddle for higher-output builds. Too much tire can load the drivetrain differently, so match the choice to your power, gearing and riding style.

Standard or competition cut?

A competition cut removes material to reduce weight. Packard describes roughly 7–8 lb reduction per rear tire where that preparation is offered; the exact result depends on the tire. Select No for the standard version or Yes for the comp-cut option shown.

Know the tradeoff: third-party comp cutting makes the tire more vulnerable to punctures and small air leaks. Packard states that altered/comp-cut tires have no warranty, exchanges or refunds; exposed threads may occur. Avoid rocks and wooded terrain, and replace tires with threads cut through. Third-party preparation can affect lead time.

Packard recommends 8 oz of liquid starch per tire for its comp-cut setup. Follow the current preparation and pressure guidance for the exact tire.

What matters when comparing sand tires?

Start with your usable power, vehicle weight, gearing and wheel width. Then compare the tire’s actual size, paddle configuration and weight. A larger or more aggressive paddle changes the load on the machine; the best choice is the one that works with the complete setup.

Packard comes from a sand-racing background. R1 brings a real powersports shop to the conversation, so you can ask about the details before choosing. Planning for a trip? Check the selected option’s availability and contact us about timing before checkout.
