About Packard Performance Sand Light Tires

PACKARD LIGHTWEIGHT SAND TIRE FAMILY

Packard Performance Sand Light Tires

Shop Packard Sand Light front steer, rough-buff front and rear paddle options, including standard and HO configurations for different power levels.

What Is the Sand Light Line?

Build a lightweight dune setup with Packard Sand Light front steer tires, rough-buff fronts and rear paddles. Choose a front and rear combination for your UTV’s power, tire size and riding conditions.

Rear Sand Light Paddle Tires

Current rear listings include 32x15-15, 33x15-15 and 33x15-15 HO variants. Packard notes that the carcass measures roughly one inch shorter than the printed size.

Standard vs. HO

Packard lists the standard Sand Light rear with a 1 1/16-inch paddle and the HO version with a 1 5/16-inch paddle, roughly 1/4 inch taller. Packard recommends standard Sand Light tires for stock SXS builds through roughly 250–300 HP max, while HO is recommended for machines over 250 crank HP.

Front Steer Options

Choose lightweight Sand Light steer tires or rough-buff fronts. Compare the weight and construction of each front tire to find the match for your rear paddles.

Approximate Weight and Pressure Guidance

Packard lists approximate rear weights of 28 lb for the 32-inch, 28 lb for the 33-inch and 30 lb for the 33-inch HO. Packard recommends 8–10 PSI for optimal rear-tire performance.

Comp-Cut Considerations

Where a comp-cut option is offered, Packard states typical rear-tire weight loss can be about 7–8 lb. Comp cutting also thins the tire and increases puncture risk. Packard states comp-cut tires have no warranty, may have small air leaks or exposed threads, and are not recommended around rocks or sticks. Packard recommends 8 oz of liquid starch per comp-cut tire.

How to Choose

  • Use standard vs. HO guidance based on actual horsepower.
  • Confirm 15-inch wheel diameter and clearance.
  • Pair the correct front steer tire with the rear paddle configuration.
  • Avoid comp cut if the riding environment includes sharp rocks or sticks.
