The base is made of stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance, while the powder-coated aluminum top plate adds contrast and customization options. Don't be confused by others that offer a top plate that requires you to cut and modify the OEM (707900644 / 707900463) plastic shifter, or the steel versions that others have in the marketplace that are prone to rust.
