Polaris Differential Replacement: Front, Rear & Core Returns
Choose the correct differential, understand the core return, and compare the complete repair cost before you order.
Start with front versus rear
“Polaris differential” is not enough information to place an order. Confirm whether you need the front or rear assembly, then identify the machine, year and original gearcase number. This matters especially when a model family has multiple generations or separate front and rear products.
Use a technician’s diagnosis to decide between repairing a component and replacing the assembly. Noise, a leak or a four-wheel-drive complaint can have more than one cause. Do not use an online symptom list as proof that the complete differential has failed.
Model-specific options to review

2024+ RZR XP 1000 front
A separate later-generation product; do not assume interchangeability with an earlier XP unit.
What the remanufactured assembly includes
Read the selected product’s build details rather than applying one specification to every differential. CW listings describe inspection and rebuilding, with components such as upgraded bearings and seals, a sprague carrier or armature-related parts on applicable assemblies. The included parts and correct application belong to the specific listing.
Keep existing mounting and identification information available during the fitment check. Ask which external parts transfer from the old assembly and whether any related driveline components need attention before installation.
How the $500 differential deposit works
R1’s displayed differential price includes a $500 refundable core deposit. CW inspects the returned core. A good, usable core returned on time with the original foam packaging qualifies for the full deposit refund. CW lists a $50 bad-core charge and a $500 no-core charge; applicable supplier processing and packaging charges can affect the refund.
Retain the shipping container and foam, drain the old unit and arrange its prepaid return through R1. Ship it within 10 business days of receiving the replacement. See the core-return guide for the distinction between shipping a core and returning a purchased product.
Our recommendation
Choose an exact-match remanufactured assembly when the diagnosis supports replacement and you want a documented rebuild with manufacturer coverage. Compare it with a component-level repair if the existing case and other parts are suitable. The right choice depends on inspection results and the full installed cost.
CW provides 90-day limited manufacturer coverage for these differentials. Removal and installation labor are separate. Shop remanufactured differentials to review current fitment and prices.
Replacement-unit shipping and core-return shipping are included within the lower 48 states. Rebuild time and transit time are separate; ask for the current schedule before planning a ride or booking installation.
Questions before you order
Can I use a front differential in place of a rear differential?
No. Choose the listed assembly position and exact application. Front and rear products are separate choices.
Is the core refunded just because it was delivered?
Differential refunds follow CW’s receipt and inspection. Condition, packaging and applicable supplier charges determine the refundable balance.
