Product shown: Packard Apollo Midnight beadlock wheel for Polaris RZR Pro R. This is an individual wheel component; tire choice and complete-assembly fitment are separate checks.
For a stock, naturally aspirated RZR Pro R, start by comparing Packard Sand Light rear paddles with specific Big Foot options. Choose between a ribbed front steer tire and a front-traction design such as Stitch, then select wheels around the exact tires. A Pro R 4 carrying passengers deserves its own load review, and a modified car needs power information that goes beyond the number on the factory spec sheet.
The useful starting point is the whole car: model year, two or four seats, normal riding load, power, clutching and where you ride. Here is how those details narrow the Packard tire choices at R1 and the Pro R wheel options.
Start with the right Pro R
The recreational Pro R's naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is a different starting point from the turbocharged twin in the Pro XP or Turbo R. The following examples show why the complete model name matters.
On a small screen, swipe or scroll the table sideways to see all columns.
| Model | Factory power | Factory tires and wheels |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 Pro XP Ultimate | 181 hp, 925-cc turbo twin | 30x10-14 tires; 14x6 front and 14x7 rear wheels |
| 2024 Turbo R Ultimate | 181 hp, 925-cc turbo twin | 32x10-15 tires; 15x7 five-lug wheels front and rear |
| 2024 Pro R Ultimate | 225 hp, 1,997-cc naturally aspirated four-cylinder | 32x10-15 Maxxis Rampage Fury tires; 15x7 five-lug wheels front and rear |
| 2026 Pro R Ultimate | 225 hp, naturally aspirated | 32x10-15 Pro Armor Trekker tires; 15x7 five-lug beadlock wheels front and rear |
Packard identifies the Pro R wheel pattern as 5x4.5, also written 5x114.3 mm, on its Pro R platform page. Pro XP wheel shopping follows a different four-lug path. A Turbo R's five-lug layout still does not make its ideal paddle setup identical to a Pro R's.
Shopping for a 2027 Pro R Boost? Polaris has introduced a separate 275-hp factory-turbo model with revised clutching, transmission and front drive. Keep that model separate when checking tire and wheel applications. The 2027 naturally aspirated Pro R continues at 225 hp; the Boost announcement describes the new platform changes. The Factory race car also needs a separate fitment review.
Which rear paddle family should you compare?
Stock Pro R: start with standard Sand Light
Packard Sand Light rear paddles are a useful first comparison for a stock naturally aspirated Pro R. Packard positions the standard tire for stock through moderately increased power, with a 1 1/16-inch paddle. Compare the complete tire-and-wheel assembly with the Big Foot option you are considering, using the exact size and cut configuration.
Replacing only one end of an existing sand setup? Identify the current Sand Light SKU and mounted dimensions rather than carrying over measurements from an older size label.
Larger-carcass builds: compare Big Foot and Big Foot Sport
The Big Foot rear range gives you several size and paddle configurations. For a specific comparison point, the Big Foot Sport 34x15-15 has a manufacturer-described 34x15-inch carcass, a 1 1/16-inch paddle and a listed weight of 35 lb per uncut tire. Packard recommends that Sport tire for 175–350 wheel horsepower.
That makes Sport worth discussing when a larger carcass is part of the build, but the Pro R's factory 225-hp rating cannot establish that it falls inside a wheel-horsepower range. Bring actual power information, the normal loaded car and your clearance requirements into that comparison. Packard's Sport specification is useful product guidance, not an OEM Pro R fitment approval.
Modified Pro R: choose HO around the actual build
If the car is tuned, supercharged or turbocharged, identify the tune, fuel and power measurement before choosing a more aggressive rear tire. Big Foot HO is Packard's higher-output family; its current guidance calls for 250-plus WHP and a taller 1 5/16-inch paddle. That is a different decision from buying the standard tire for an unmodified car.
For cutting eligibility and the separate cut-versus-uncut decision, see our comp-cut paddle tire guide.
Give a Pro R 4 its own load review
A four-seat car can have the same engine rating while asking the tires to carry a substantially different load. Polaris lists the 2026 Pro R Ultimate at an estimated 2,339 lb dry with a 740-lb payload, while the 2026 Pro R 4 Ultimate is listed at 2,594 lb dry with a 900-lb payload.
Those numbers explain why “my friend runs these on his Pro R” is only a starting point. Tell R1 how many people usually ride, what gear and accessories you carry, and whether the tire comparison is for relaxed dune exploring or repeated power-focused climbs. Seat count alone does not determine paddle height or tire size. The selected tires and wheels need appropriate load capacity for the actual car.
Can you keep the factory 15x7 wheels?
The stock 15-inch diameter is helpful, but it answers only the bead-diameter question. A tire labeled 33x15-15 has a 15-inch wheel diameter requirement; its middle number describes nominal tire width. It does not establish compatibility with a 7-inch-wide wheel.
Packard's dune-wheel guidance presents 15x7 fronts and 15x11 rears. R1's Apollo Midnight Pro R beadlock offers both widths in 5x4.5. This gives you a real wheel choice to compare if your chosen paddle calls for a wider rear rim. Confirm the exact tire's approved rim width and the wheel's offset, load capacity and clearance before settling on the assembly.
Choose the front tire and check the PVT setup
A Big Foot ribbed front steer is the steering-focused option to compare. Stitch uses angled front paddles intended to contribute traction in four-wheel-drive sand use. Decide which role you want the front tires to play, then check their mounted rolling circumference with the rear tires. Choose a 15-inch-bead front for these 15-inch wheels.
The Pro R's PVT setup belongs in the conversation when tire size, paddle load, power or riding elevation changes. The 2026 Polaris owner's manual directs clutching questions to a dealer or qualified person and notes that high elevation can require different components. Give the installer your actual tire and power information instead of applying another rider's clutch settings.
Build your Pro R parts list
Send R1 the details that narrow the choice:
- Year, full model and trim, and whether it is a Pro R or Pro R 4
- Current front and rear tire sizes, wheel widths and any hub, brake or suspension changes
- Stock or modified power, including tune, fuel, dyno measurement basis and clutching
- Normal passenger-and-gear load, riding location and the kind of dune riding you enjoy
- The Sand Light, Big Foot or HO options you are comparing and your preferred front-tire design
Browse Packard Pro R wheels, then call R1 at 801-899-2520 or text your setup to work through the tire-and-wheel combination. Tires and wheels on these linked pages are separate components; confirm quantities and mounting arrangements for your order.
