What is bump steer and why is it bad?
Bump steer is a change in the toe angle of your wheels as the suspension moves up and down. This unwanted toe change causes the tires to steer on their own with every bump, leading to steering wheel feedback, erratic handling, and increased wear on steering components.
How does the BSD™ kit fix bump steer?
The BSD™ kit relocates the outer tie rod pivot point, which alters the suspension geometry to minimize or eliminate the effect of bump steer. This correction provides a more stable and controlled steering response.
Is this kit compatible with aftermarket A-arms?
This specific BSD™ kit is designed to correct the geometry of the factory arm configuration. Aftermarket A-arms can produce different amounts of bump steer, so it is crucial to measure bump steer before installation and consult with Shock Therapy if you have aftermarket arms.
Can I adjust my alignment with this kit installed?
The factory Ranger XP 1000 does not offer adjustment for caster or camber. The BSD™ kit adds toe adjustment capability without affecting other alignment settings, as they are not independently adjustable from the factory.
